ISPO South Africa is one of 76 ISPO country-specific member societies, each bringing together surgeons, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, biomedical engineers, prosthetists & orthotists, interested private individuals and many other rehabilitation professionals — with one goal: to improve access to orthotic and prosthetic care and raise O&P standards by supporting local government and educational standards.

ISPO SA is the national voice for prosthetics and orthotics

ISPO SA is the South African National Member Society directly affiliated with ISPO, the International Society for Prosthetics and Orthotics — a multidisciplinary body of 3 361 members across 109 countries. ISPO unites the professions and disciplines concerned with the care of people who need prostheses and orthoses, mobility aids and related rehabilitation services.

Medical orthotist and prosthetist, heavily involved in patient advocacy and rehabilitation standards and a contributor to Rolling Inspiration magazine, a prominent South African publication for people with mobility impairments. Administrator of the CPO National Forum and known for early adoption of 3D-printed socket technology in South Africa, with outreach experience across the region.

Medical orthotist and prosthetist, particularly involved in O&P rehabilitation and bringing a strong patient-centred perspective to clinical practice standards. Yonise’s interests are whole-person rehabilitation, clinical biomechanics, specialised CPO services, and gait analysis & correction. She is also an admin member of the SA CPO Forum.
